What the work looks like
A southern Arizona cattle ranch is seeking a senior Ranch Manager for a large, diversified operation. This is a hands-on leadership role managing cattle, range, pasture rotations, fences, records, equipment, and a provided string of horses. The ranch needs someone independent, organized, and serious about long-term ranch management.
What the ranch needs handled
- Manage cattle, yearling, range, and pasture operations
- Build and implement cattle rotation plans
- Oversee calving heifers, fencing, records, and equipment
- Ride and maintain a provided string of horses
- Work with ownership on day-to-day planning
Experience that must line up
- Strong horsemanship
- Experience riding young horses
- Ability to shoe horses
- Calving-heifer experience
- Range management and pasture rotation
- Fence maintenance
- Accurate cattle and equipment records
- Valid driver license
- Clean driving and criminal record
Helpful, but not automatic deal breakers
- Heavy machinery operation
- Yearling experience
- Experience working with state or federal agencies
