A useful interview explains the ordinary work as clearly as the busiest season.
- Daily and seasonal duties
- Livestock type and approximate scale
- Schedule, days off, and on-call expectations
- Pay, payroll timing, and benefits
- Housing, utilities, pets, family, and distance to town
- Safety expectations and required licenses
Both sides: test the practical fit
Discuss start date, relocation, communication style, dogs, horses, transportation, weather, and why the last worker or job ended. Direct questions now prevent expensive surprises later.
End with a clear next step
